Pippa Macmillan
Pippa enjoys teaching and performing equally. As a Suzuki cello teacher, and the only Suzuki double bass teacher in the UK, she has thriving teaching studios in both London and Cambridge, with pupils aged 4 to 11. Having been raised as a Suzuki pianist and cellist, she's been attending Suzuki workshops her whole life.
As a freelance musician she regularly performs with a variety of period orchestras, including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, English Concert, Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique and London Handel Orchestra. After studying at the Royal Academy of Music, Pippa moved to New York to do Masters in Historical Performance at The Juilliard School. She is now Professor of Baroque Double Bass at the Royal College of Music.
