Karina MacAlpine
Born and raised in South East London I started the violin at age 5 and was involved in the the music programme at Bexley Music Center and later joined Goldsmiths Youth Orchestra. At age 16 I gained a place and Trinity College of music junior department (now Trinity Laban), then went onto study for the performance degree at Trinity College of Music senior department where teachers included Hu Kun and Eszter Boda Katona.
It was at Trinity that I met my fellow members of Blond String Quartet and since forming we have spent may years performing all over the UK and Europe.
Shortly after leaving music college I came across the Suzuki method and knowing that as a musician I would inevitably find myself teaching I enrolled onto the British Suzuki's Teacher Training Course and never looked back.
Suzuki method has given me friendships, adventures and a life filled with music. I have been fortunate enough to teach alongside many wonderful pedagogues from whom I have learned so much from along the way.
As Suzuki Method has changed my life for the better, I have been very keen to share my knowledge and experience with new teachers and so became a European Suzuki Association (ESA) Certified Teacher Trainer in 2020.
